9. Barquisimeto – Venezuela
With over one million residents that find Barquisimeto home, unfortunately murder is a part of the everyday life here. Despite having several universities in the area, the risk of violence is simply too high for backpackers to take part in.
10. Joaeo Pessoa – Brazil
The final city of Joaeo Pessoa located in the most eastern part of Brazil is not only one of the greenest cities in the world but unfortunately, also one of the most dangerous due to its 71 homicides per 100,000 residents per year.
