Amsterdam is best known for its luxurious canal houses and charming gabled facades, but the city has enough architectural treasures to keep design lovers busy for weeks.
Urban planning and architecture of Amsterdam made the last two decades flourished attracting international attention.
Presumably starting out as a small stream, the ‘IJ’ developed into the historic seaport as it is today. The ‘IJ’ was once the VOC’s home port. Countless impressive cruise ships come to moor in the port every year. You can discover this area in 1 ½ hours during the Amsterdam Harbour Cruise. The tour departs from Pier 14 on the Central Station’s IJ side and stops at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, Restaurant Stork, Eye Film Museum and the NDSM wharf. You can enjoy a drink inside the boat and you can blow away the cobwebs on the top deck whilst enjoying this unique area’s modern architecture and historic highlights.
The top deck is the ideal place for photographing the impressive (cruise) ships and extraordinary architecture. The boat has also a cosy lounge area with a bar and plenty of seating. You can sit back and enjoy a drink and a snack whilst enjoying the views. On board you will find information about the sights you can admire along the route and of course toilet facilities are on board.
