Palau de la Musica
Palau de la Musica, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner is still a fully functioning concert and music hall. It is one of the main tourist attractions throughout Barcelona, located in the La Ribera area at the top of El Born. Construction began in 1905 and was completed in 1908. This concert hall is nothing short of absolutely stunning and pleasing to the eye with its unique design and intricate details.
In 1997 the building was claimed by UNESCO. Keep in mind that this structure is extremely important for the Catalan population. Lluís Domènech i Montaner was one of the architects who stood at the base of the Catalan modernism.
There is an option to take a guided tour where you will most likely be able to see many of the rooms and get a behind the scenes look at its interior along with simply gaining a better understanding of its history and significance. However, because it still serves as a fully functioning concert hall, some rooms may be off-limits while there.
